RESTORE YOUR PELVIC FLOOR WITH CORE-TEX SIT

It's no secret that after having children, many women experience issues related to a weak pelvic floor. You've heard it before: the jokes about moms not being able to jump, sneeze, or laugh without peeing a little. We're here to remind you that, despite what social media tells you, you don't have to live like that!

MAMA, YOU'RE NOT ALONE

Pelvic floor disorder in women is estimated to range between 12-42% of the population and symptoms can present as early as age 20 (though the incidence increases with age). Not isolated to females, pelvic floor disorder can affect males, too! Symptoms include bowel and bladder problems (think constipation, incontinence, etc.) and pain during sexual intercourse in females. You can read more about the causes and symptoms of a weak pelvic floor here.

Just like other muscles in your body, your pelvic floor muscles can become tight, weak, or simply function poorly, which can cause pain. As you can imagine, the ability of the muscles of the pelvic floor to do their jobs properly directly influences the symptoms associated with pelvic floor disorder and one’s quality of life. In other words, fix those pelvic floor issues (too tight, too weak, improper function, etc.) and improve the quality of your life!

BEYOND “TIGHT OR “WEAK”

Just like landing a great joke, timing can be everything with the muscles of your pelvic floor. Regardless of how strong it might be, if those muscles are a *tenth of a second* late contracting, the leak has already occurred. That is why that unexpected cough, sneeze, or laugh can be a catalyst for a less-than-ideal situation.

For much of what our body does, we need our muscles to fire before or without us ever thinking about it. Think about it this way: when you get bumped in a crowd, your muscles go to work to stop you from falling before you even consciously process what just happened (pretty neat, right?). That reaction time is the difference between a little wobble and falling to the floor!

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if the extent of training your pelvic floor is Kegels while lying on the bed or standing in line at the supermarket, then that is all you are training your Kegels to do. Your pelvic floor learns to contract and relax as you consciously think about it in a static position.

Which would be great—IF you lived your life that way... standing in a static position and thinking about your pelvic floor. But... we're moms. Our bodies function with all sorts of variable positions and with the need for our muscles to react in unexpected ways (i.e. suddenly sprinting to chase a toddler or jumping over a pile of laundry to catch a cup of milk before it spills). Insert Core-Tex Sit!

Core-Tex Sit is a tool that provides variation to the positional demands of the pelvic floor, promotes improved reaction time of the muscles, and teaches the pelvic floor to work with the rest of your core and hips... all while you're sitting down. Core-Tex Sit was born from a mom, who just like you, was spending so much time sitting while feeding, pumping, and working. She saw an opportunity to give herself the gift of self-care during all that time on a chair!

We spend an average of 8 hours a day sitting (though it may not feel like it if you're in the thick of raising babies). Why not make the time you're sitting more productive? Improving your deep core muscles while doing something you are already doing is a huge time saver and a sure way to maintain consistency in building a better pelvic floor!

HOW IT WORKS

The subtle dome shape and density of Core-Tex Sit provides gentle pressure and awareness to the region directly below the pelvic floor (perineum), while at the same time keeping pressure off the tailbone (coccyx). The shape also allows for a gentle spacing of your “sit bones”. The Core-Tex Sit maintains its shape continuously as you move with its patented motion. This provides a unique environment for combining therapeutic awareness and control of multi-directional movements of the pelvis, hips, and lower back.

OVERALL, CORE-TEX SIT:

  • improves timing and control of the pelvic floor muscles in a continually changing environment.
  • connects the hips, pelvic floor, and lower back to work together.
  • provides relief and prevents stress from accumulating in the lower back.
  • is great for posture and improves focus while working.
  • is easy to use: simply place Core-Tex Sit on your favorite flat, firm chair, and sit on it!

Regain and maintain that deep core and pelvic floor strength, Mama. Follow CoreTex_Sit on Instagram to see it in action, get ideas for workouts, and keep up with any deals or specials.

Happy sitting!

Scoliosis, a common spinal condition, affects the alignment and curvature of the spine. It can cause you discomfort and potentially impact the quality of your life. In this blog post, we will explore the basic biomechanics of scoliosis, shedding light on how exercise and the use of Core-Tex Sit can be beneficial in managing this condition.

We are thrilled to be working with the team from Seven Movements with Core-Tex Sit.  The Seven Movements team is leading the way on "micro dosing" movement throughout the day, for better health outcomes.

In this video, co-founder John Sinclair shares some creative moves and brilliant insight into the many ways your Core-Tex Sit can both sustain and restore, healthy spinal motion.

You are already familiar with the Foundational Five sequence with Core-Tex Sit.  By introducing two simple, exercise "props", we can further enhance the value of these 5 moves.  We will also show you a brand-new core move that is done while sitting.  This exercise (and its associated challenge) is not something you can do anywhere else.  The patented motion of Core-Tex Sit will introduce a rotational challenge to your core and hips that provide incredibly unique benefits.
